Haney Named to IWLCA Midwest Region Second Team

NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division II with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2024, as Frostburg State Women's Lacrosse sophomore Neila Haney was named to the Midwest Region Second Team for the second consecutive year. 
 
Haney repeated as MEC Offensive Player of the Year, being selected to the all-conference First Team once again as well.  Haney, attack, led Frostburg in goals (55), assists (28), points (83), and draw controls (67), all for the second straight season, while sitting in first in the MEC in points, and second in goals and assists. 
 
Helping lead the Bobcats to their second straight regular season conference championship, as well as their second consecutive MEC tournament championship, Haney scored in every game this season, knotting a hat trick or more in nine games, along with a career-game of eight goals and four assists against Davis & Elkins.  FSU went undefeated in conference play for the first time in program history, finishing with an overall record of 13-5. 
 
Haney and all other student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team, which will be announced on May 22.
