Frostburg State Places 2nd in 2023-24 MEC Commissioner's Cup

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the results of the 2023-24 Commissioner's Cup, in which Frostburg State placed second out of 11 institutions.

The University of Charleston repeated as champions for the seventh-straight season, while FSU recorded its highest-ever finish, having placed fourth in the 2022-23 season. Rankings are determined by an "All-Sports Rating", which tallies points awarded for schools' performances in MEC-sponsored sports divided by the number of sports offered by the school. UC had a rating of 1.01966, with the Bobcats following at 0.71196 ahead of Fairmont State in third at 0.68954.

Out of 21 total eligible sports, Frostburg recorded conference tournament championships in Men's and Women's Swimming, Acrobatics & Tumbling, and Women's Lacrosse, while Baseball and Women's Soccer each won North Division titles. Since joining the Division II level and the MEC in 2019, FSU has slowly climbed up the Commissioner's Cup standings, going from 12th in its inaugural season to 9th, 7th, 4th, and now runners up in the most recent season.
