Pruim, Blankenship, Mazalewski, Taylor Earn D2CCA Football All-Region Accolades
FROSTBURG, Md. - Four Frostburg State players were selected to the D2CCA All-Region teams, as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Senior OL Doug Pruim II earned a spot on the First Team, the distinction he also earned from All-MEC honors. His classmate on the line in Nick Blankenship was named to the Second Team, as each helped FSU to over 2,200 yards rushing and 23 scores on the ground, averaging 172 yards per game. They were equally as effective in pass protection, as Frostburg only gave up 16 sacks in the entire season.
Defensively, senior DE Christian Taylor also secured a Second Team selection, leading the team in sacks (10.0), tackles for loss (14.0), and forced fumbles (3). Redshirt sophomore LB Carter Mazalewski equally took Second Team honors, placing second for FSU in tackles for loss (9.5), third in sacks (3.0), and fourth in total tackles (56), playing in just 10 of the team's 13 games.
