Frostburg State Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Class

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State University Department of Athletics and the Office of Alumni Relations has announced the 2025 Bobcat Hall of Fame Class.  The seven inductees will be honored during Homecoming Weekend of October 2-5, 2025.

The Inductees
Ralph Brewer, the 238th inductee, was the Athletic Director from 2000-2006, where he increased academic retention of athletes by over 10%.  He constructed four fields during his tenure, including a turf stadium field and a reconstruction of the baseball infield.  Brewer added coed golf as a varsity sport at the time and achieved multiple NCAA bids with men's and women's soccer, volleyball, and baseball.

Renee Cannon, the 239th inductee, was named a United States Women's Lacrosse Association Division II All-American in 1983 after making 192 saves in goal that season.  She is a two-time All-Maryland Second Team selection and Maryland College Tournament participant.  She helped lead Women's Lacrosse to two double digit win seasons, putting up a career-high 24 saves against Shippensburg in 1982 as a freshman.
 
Tony Christian, the 240th inductee, is an All-American in 110m hurdles, being the runner up at the NCAA National Championships in 1979.  In his career, he established 17 Frostburg Track & Field records in high hurdle events, holding the best finish in program history at the time in the shuttle hurdles (1:00.62) and tying for the best time in the 440 yards relay (42.1).  Christian is a two-time Mason Dixon hurdles champion and received eight All-Mason-Dixon honors.

Kathy Crotty, the 241st inductee, is an All-American for Track & Field in the outdoor 400m hurdles and indoor high jump, holding the school record in the outdoor long jump (19'01"), and indoor high jump (5'7") and pentathlon (3,305 points).  She holds several other top-5 program records in her four-year career.

Stephen Sites, the 242nd inductee, sits in the top-seven in wins (18), starts (31), complete games (13), innings pitched (191), and strikeouts (171) as one of Baseball's top pitchers in program history.  He is a four-time First Team All-ESAC selection, being named Most Valuable Pitcher by the team in 1988 and 1989.  Sites helped lead Frostburg to the title of ESAC DIII South Region Champions in 1990 to end his senior season.

Justin Stephens, the 243rd inductee, shows the best singles and doubles record in Men's Tennis history with records of 58-11 and 49-15.  He recorded 17 singles wins in one season, tying for the most wins in a year in program history.  Stephens was named AMCC Player of the Year in 2003, as he is a three-time All-AMCC Singles First Team honoree and two-time All-AMCC Doubles First Team selection.  He was crowned AMCC Regular Season and Tournament Champion in both sets of competition during his freshman season in 2001.

Stephanie Zych, the 244th inductee, finished her career as the all-time leader in minutes (6,799:40), saves (443), and wins (48) in Women's Soccer history, while also being second in career shutouts (19) at the time.  She was named Second Team All-AMCC her senior season and is a two-time recipient of Honorable Mention All-AMCC honors, having helped lead the team to three consecutive AMCC Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament bids.  Zych was also first in career assists (267) for softball when she finished her career, receiving Second Team All-AMCC her last two seasons, having helped Frostburg to a runner-up finish in the AMCC Tournament her senior year.
