Alcala Named MEC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Junior Cole Alcala was named MEC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the first time this season, as the award was announced by the league office on Monday and is presented by The Health Plan.
Alcala helped lead Frostburg to their first conference win of the season on Tuesday with a 7-0 sweep of West Liberty. Alcala won both of his matches against the Hilltoppers, taking No. 1 doubles 6-0 and his No. 1 singles contest 6-1, 6-0. In FSU's 4-1 loss to Davis & Elkins on Saturday, Alcala came out on top of a 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 battle in singles play, being the lone Bobcat to pick up a win during singles competition.
