Weakley, Smith Receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Frostburg State Women's Basketball seniors Emilee Weakley and Taylor Smith were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, announced by the organization on Wednesday. 
 
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Weakley and Smith represended Frostburg Women's Basketball extremely well on and off the courth, both receiving All-MEC honors and both holding just under a 3.9 GPA.  Weakley was named First Team All-MEC, while going on to capture First Team All-Region honors, as well as two All-American nods, all while majoring in Business Administration.  Smith was selected to the All-MEC Second Team, being a part of the Athletic Training program.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
 
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16, 2025.
