Ceballos, Kush Take Doubles Win in Women's Tennis Loss to Red Flash
EBENSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team dropped their match to Division I Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, falling by a final of 7-0 on the road.
Frostburg picked up a win in doubles play, with the team of sophomore Alyssa Kush and freshman Lauren Ceballos defeating their opponents by a 6-4 score. Juniors Julia Ramos and Lorena Pintar came up just short in their doubles match, being on the other end of a 6-4 score as the Red Flash took the doubles point.
Kush kept it close in her singles match, falling by scores of 6-3 and 7-6. Pintar and Ceballos each fell by scores of 6-1 and 7-5, while freshman Patricia Castejon took her singles match to three sets, coming up just shy with a final of 4-6, 6-3, 4-10.
With the loss, FSU moves to 3-3 overall and 0-2 to start the spring season, while SFU improves to 5-5. The Bobcats remain on the road to travel to Erie, Pa. to face Edinboro at 4 PM on Saturday, February 24 and Mercyhurst at 3 PM on Sunday, February 25.
