Women's Track & Field Sees Multiple Top-10 Finishes Throughout Youngstown Weekend
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team competed at the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational on Friday and Saturday, seeing six top-10 finishes over the two-day span of competition.
The top finish for Frostburg came on a group effort in the 4x400, with the relay team of junior Valerie Boards, sophomores Lucy Crowe and Isabella Mastria, and freshman Keira Taylor clocking in at 4:10.19 to secure a third-place finish. Boards also had top-10 finishes in the 60 and 200 meters, showing a 7.94 for eighth place in the 60m, and a 25.58 for ninth place in the 200m.
The distance medley team of seniors Amy Tarcza and Chelsea Montau, Mastria, and Taylor finished eighth with a time of 14:51.56, while Mastria also finished eighth in the long jump at 5.38 meters. Rounding out the top-10 slates on the weekend was freshman Sydney Johnson, picking up a sixth place finish with a weight throw of 12.82m.
