TIFFIN, Ohio – Frostburg State Women's Wrestling Head Coach Breonnah Neal was named the National Wrestling Coaches Association NCWWC Region IV Coach of the Year on Friday, prior to Frostburg competing in the NCWWC Regional Tournament over the weekend.

In her second year leading the Bobcats, Neal has gone 10-1 in duals on the season, making a mark in the emerging sport in just Frostburg's second-ever season.  The Open Mat has FSU ranked 20th in the dual rankings, with junior Solana Mottola being ranked 17th in the 131 lb weight class, and sophomore Jocelyn Cacek being ranked 17th in the 207 lb weight class.  Sophomore Jada Fowler holds onto 18th in the 124 lb weight class, while sophomore Brianna Holcomb sits right behind Mottola in 131 taking 18th.

Frostburg has seven wrestlers ranked in the top four of the region, with Fowler, senior Shani Tyson (138), junior Jada Arnold (180), and Cacek (207) all being ranked first. The growth that Neal has developed, helped the Bobcats shine at regionals, finishing second out of 12 teams with 118.5 total points.  FSU is sending a total of eight wrestlers to the NCWWC National Tournament with Holcomb, freshman Amber-Hunter Snyder (145), and Cacek being crowned region champs in their respective weight classes, with Fowler, Mottola, Tyson, sophomore Maria Hiles (180), and Arnold all qualifying for the next step.

The Bobcats will head to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for nationals, with the tournament being held Friday, March 7 – Saturday, March 8.  For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
