Men's Tennis Dominates Season Opener at IUP Invitational

INDIANA, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team began their 2025-26 campaign at the IUP Invitational on Sunday.

With all of their competition coming against Salem (WV), FSU went undefeated in singles play without losing a single set. Seniors Cole Alcala (6-2, 7-5), German Diaz (6-2, 6-0) and Noah Fisher (6-2, 6-3) were joined by junior Otto Hintermister (6-4, 7-5) and freshmen Tiago Iser (6-4, 7-6) and Nate Carter (6-0, 6-1), the latter two of whom were competing in their first collegiate matches.

The Bobcats only dropped one doubles match across three attempts, as Iser and classmate Sergi Rodriguez split a pair of 6-2 decisions, while Hintermister and Fisher won comfortably by the same margin.

Each team will face off against one another on Saturday, September 20 at 1 p.m. in Salem.  Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
