McCoy Becomes Men's Track & Field's First-Ever Division II National Qualifier
PUEBLO, Colo. - The NCAA announced its selections for the 2025 Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, of which Frostburg State senior Tom McCoy became the program's first-ever men's team qualifier.
Now a two-time Mountain East Conference outdoor champion and three-time USTFCCCA All-Region member, McCoy set the meet and program record during the conference championships, blowing away his personal best at 5.11m. The mark put him tied for ninth in the country, of which the top 22 performers will make the trip to Colorado. He becomes the first FSU men's athlete to qualify for nationals since former standout JR Lowery placed runner-up in the shot put in Division III 2017.
The championships will be held from May 22-24, 2025 at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado. The pole vault will begin on Thursday, May 22 at 11:05 AM, while the full schedule can be found here.
