Men's Tennis Voted Sixth in MEC Preseason Poll
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their 2025 Men's Tennis Preseason Poll on Tuesday afternoon, with Frostburg State Men's Tennis being placed in the sixth spot.
Frostburg finished 7-12 overall a season ago, picking up a lone conference win over West Virginia State. The Bobcats slid into their first ever MEC Tournament, taking control of the No. 4 seed, where the team fell to No. 1 Charleston in the first round. FSU saw some action in the fall, competing in the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament and Cardinal Invitational, along with securing a 7-0 sweep of Shepherd for their first win of the full season.
FSU earned 14 total points in the poll, falling right behind West Virginia State who sits in fifth with 15 points, and coming in front of West Liberty who was given six total points. Charleston (WV) holds onto first place in the poll, being given 36 total points and six first-place votes, while Fairmont State (30) is in control of second place, and West Virginia Wesleyan (27) stands in third with the other lone first-place vote.
The Bobcats begin spring action on the road against Edinboro on Sunday, February 16, holding both their home and MEC opener on Wednesday, March 26 at 1 PM with Charleston.
