JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team went undefeated at the Jersey City Quad, defeating the hosts, Utica, and Alvernia on Saturday.
 
In the first match against Utica, the first three bouts were all forfeits, as freshman Ella McDonald had the first contest at 124, needing just 12 seconds to defeat her opponent. Junior Bri Holcomb and freshman Bliss Joyce both followed up with 10-0 tech falls at 131 and 138, respectively. FSU then took three pinfalls in the final four bouts, as sophomore Amber Hunter-Snyder, junior Maria Hiles, and freshman Chaniah Bernier all needed less than 30 seconds to secure their victories at 145, 180, and 207, respectively, for the 43-0 final.
 
Facing Alvernia in the second match, the Bobcats forfeited at 103 before picking up pace through four consecutive pins. Freshman Kenaya Mwehu got things started just over a minute into her 110 matchup, followed by classmate Morgan Layman at 117 and McDonald at 124, while Holcomb needed just 27 seconds to earn hers at 131. Joyce and Hunter-Snyder then took tech falls at 138 and 145, respectively, growing Frostburg's lead to 28-5. AU ended on a strong note, taking a pair of pins and a forfeit at 207 to make the final 28-20.
 
Rounding out the day against New Jersey City, Mwehu and Layman continued their strong days with another pair of pins early on. McDonald then took a 10-4 decision before Holcomb and Joyce went for back-to-back falls that put FSU ahead 23-6. After a forfeit at 145, NJCU earned their first match victory at 160, however Bernier and Hiles took another couple of pinfalls to secure the 38-11 final.
