McCoy, Grubb Earn Top-5 Places at Youngstown Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State Men's Track and Field took part in their first competition of 2025 at the Youngstown State Invitational on Friday.
 
Senior Tom McCoy and freshman Dorian Grubb tied for the team's best finishes on the day, placing fourth in the pole vault and triple jump, respectively. McCoy's mark of 4.85m ties his program record and put him at the top of Division II performers in the event, while Grubb's 12.78m set a new personal record and was the second-best DII mark. Also in the jumps, freshman Blake Stevens set a new PR at 6.24m.
 
In a day full of personal records, freshman Mason Worley had a pair in the 60m hurdles (9.01) and the 400m (51.66), while freshman Cohen Arbogast (23.02) and junior Justin Dowell (23.61) each set theirs in the 200m. During the 3k, sophomore Gage Osborne (9:05.20) and junior Logan Folmer (10:33.42) both recorded personal bests.
 
Rounding out the meet in the throws, sophomore Dalton Kasekamp (13.28m) and freshman Willie Washington (12.19m) each set their personal highs in the shot put.
 
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, January 25 to take part in the Spire Midwest Open. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
