Bage Goes Undefeated in Tri-Meet with Fairmont and Kutztown
FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Frostburg State Men's Wrestling team split their day on the road Sunday with a 45-9 conference win over Fairmont State, followed by a 39-3 loss to No. 11 Kutztown.
Frostburg dominated against the Fighting Falcons, with freshman Amir Wray-Hill getting the first win of the day for Frostburg with a tech fall victory of 15-0 in the 125 lb weight class. Freshman Chase Bell won his 141 lb match by pinfall, while sophomore Gage Heilbrun picked up another win for the Bobcats in the 149 lb weight class with a tech fall of 16-1.
Sophomore Mason Buckler (157) and redshirt sophomore Noah Reho (165) both racked up pin falls in their contests, while graduate Owen Butler took a tech fall victory in 174 with a 17-1 win in 1:52. Freshman Austin Lewis received a win in the 184 lb weight class by injury default, while sophomore Gavin Bage was the lone Bobcat to take two matches on the day, with a pinfall in 285 against Fairmont, and 6-3 decision in 285 over Kutztown.
With the split, Frostburg sits with a 2-1 record on the season. The Bobcats return home for their next meet, welcoming Garrett Community College to the mat on Wednesday, November 20 at 7 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
