Women's Tennis Takes Down Harford for First Win of Spring Season

BEL AIR, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team earned their first win of the early spring season on Sunday, defeating Harford by a final score of 6-1. 
 
Frostburg swept the doubles competition, with the team of junior Alyssa Kush and senior Lorena Pintar working for the 6-1 win in the No. 1 slot.  Rounding out the doubles play on the day were sophomores Patricia Castejon and Ella Troxell, who combined for the 6-0 shutout victory. 
 
Castejon went on to receive the win in No. 2 singles, starting FSU off with a 6-4, 7-6 victory, while  Pintar followed behind her in the No. 3 hole, showing a 6-1, 6-0 victory.  Troxell finished the day undefeated as well, receiving another shutout win of 6-0, 6-0, before senior Femke Hofkamp brought it home for the Bobcats coming out on top of a 6-1, 6-0 match. 
 
With the win, Frostburg improves to 2-1 on the early spring season, while the Bobcats next remain on the road for a 1 PM match on Friday, March 14 with UDC.  For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
