Frostburg State University upper-level biology student, MacKenzie Freeze, was recently recognized with Special Honors in Microscopy Today’s 5th annual Micrograph Awards competition.

The Daily Record has named Dr. Artie L. Travis, Vice President for Student Affairs at Frostburg State University, one of the inaugural Veterans in Business and Law Award winners. Travis is one of 23 honorees from across the State.

Frostburg State University has been awarded the 2023 Appademy Award for Best App Redesign, an accolade representing the excellence in visual design and usability for a redesigned mobile campus app.

Dr. Michael Monahan, professor and chair of Frostburg State University’s Department of Management, has been selected as the 2023 recipient of the President’s Distinguished Faculty Award.

Frostburg State University honored Rubin Stevenson, Kristie Bloskey and Anthony “Tony” Rosa with Staff Awards for Excellence at the President’s State of the University address held on Sept. 7.

On Friday, Aug. 25, Donnell VanSkiver, Executive Administrative Assistant to Frostburg State University’s President, was announced the winner of this year’s Leadership Award at the 2023 Washington, D.C. Admin Awards.

Frostburg State University president, Dr. Ronald Nowaczyk, was recently appointed to serve as a new commissioner on the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

The Brady Health Center has moved to a new location on campus. The health center is now located in the Education Health Science Center (EHSC) on the 1st floor. The health center is open to see patients for the Fall 2023 semester.

After a hiatus of four years, the Cambridge University American State Tour (CAST) will return to Frostburg State University to perform William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center.

Frostburg State University, in partnership with the TEDCO Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII), Deloitte's Innovation Lab and the University System of Maryland (USM) Launch Fund, will host a regional Bobcat Innovation Launch Pad competition on the FSU campus Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24, 2023.

Frostburg State University’s Departments of Biology and Geography have established an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science to replace the environmental science concentrations previously offered within the biology and earth sciences majors.
