Golf Second; Buenger Second at FSU Tournament

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Senior Sean Buenger lost in a one-hole playoff but finished second overall and Frostburg State finished second as a team at its own FSU Tournament, Monday afternoon at the Rocky Gap Resort.

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Senior Sean Buenger (Westminster, Md./Westminster) lost in a one-hole playoff but finished second overall and Frostburg State finished second as a team at its own FSU Tournament, Monday afternoon at the Rocky Gap Resort.

Buenger shot a five-over 79 and lost to Lake Erie's Justin Brown, who birdied the first hole of the playoff.

Lake Erie took the overall top place as a team combining for a 326. FSU was second with a 334 followed by Penn State Altoona in third (338) and Pitt-Bradford in fourth (355).

FSU sophomore Josh Williford (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) finished second on the team and in a five-way tie for fifth place overall with an 84.

Senior Joe Eaton (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville) was third on the team and tied for 11th overall after shooting 85. Junior Jack Lipps (Elkton, Md./Elkton) was fourth on the team with an 86.

Steve Moritz and Sean Jackson each shot 84 to pace Penn State Altoona while Eric Schenfield led Pitt-Bradford with an 82.

Frostburg State returns to action on Friday, October 5 at the AMCC Championships at 9:00 am.
