Buenger Wins ECAC Men's Division III South Championships

ALLISON PARK, Pa. — Senior Sean Buenger shot an even-par 72 in the final round to win the ECAC Men's Division III South Golf Championship, Monday at Wildwood Golf Club. Frostburg State finished sixth in the seven-team field with a 692.

ALLISON PARK, Pa. — Senior Sean Buenger (Westminster, Md./Westminster) shot an even-par 72 in the final round to win the ECAC Men's Division III South Golf Championship, Monday at Wildwood Golf Club. Frostburg State finished sixth in the seven-team field with a 692.

Buenger, who earned his fifth-straight top-ten finish, totaled 155 over the two-day event after firing a first round 83. Buenger's total bested Carnegie Mellon's Chris Lee (156) by a single stroke while Lake Erie's Joe Ribelli (157) finished third.

CMU won the championship with a 637 (+51) followed Penn State Altoona, which finished runner-up with a 660. La Roche captured third (685) while Lake Erie and Penn State Behrend tied for fourth (687).

Bobcat senior Joe Eaton (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville) was second on the team with a 169 (88, 81) while classmate Wayne Rice (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) took third with a 175 (90, 85).

Senior Jon Stepanuk (Prince Frederick, Md./Calverton School) was fourth (193) and junior Bryan Wesolowski (Waldorf, Md./West Lake) (208) was fifth.

FSU is back on the course on Tuesday at Centenary at Panther Valley Country Club in Allamuchy, N.J.
