Shattuck Captures Bronze Medal at Paralympic Games Held in Chile

Former FSU swimmer Zach Shattuck competed in another set of Paralympic Games, taking home a bronze medal in the men's 50 meter butterfly at the 2023 Parapan-American Games, taken place in Chile.

FROSTBURG, Md. – Former FSU swimmer Zach Shattuck competed in another set of Paralympic Games, taking home a bronze medal in the men's 50 meter butterfly at the 2023 Parapan-American Games, taken place in Chile. 
 
Shattuck, a Frostburg State graduate and Mount Airy native, swam a 33.67 in Santiago, adding to his collection of bronze medals.  Previously, Shattuck took home a bronze medal in the 2017 World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico City, as part of the 4x100 medley relay team that finished with a time of 4:55.79.  Shattuck has also competed in the 2020 Paralympic Games that were held in Tokyo, where he broke the American Paralympic record in the SM6 200-meter individual medley.
