Alcala Earns 50th Career Win in Men's Tennis Loss to Knights

The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell 6-3 to Carleton in the second match of their Spring Break trip on Tuesday.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell 6-3 to Carleton in the second match of their Spring Break trip on Tuesday.
 
With the match played in Division III scoring, the doubles pairing of sophomores German Diaz and Cole Alcala picked up an 8-5 win. Junior Matt Bolen and freshman Field Myatt lost a close match 8-7 to give the Knights two of the match's first three scores.
 
In singles play, Alcala (6-1, 6-2) and Diaz (6-1, 6-3) picked up victories at the top two spots, with the former's being the 50th of his FSU career. Myatt was the next closest Bobcat to taking a match, but narrowly lost in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, as CC swept each of the remaining three points.
 
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 2-6 on the year, while Carleton improves to 8-2. FSU will conclude their trip to South Carolina on Thursday, March 21 to face Nazareth at 10 AM. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
