Diaz Takes MEC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Junior German Diaz was named MEC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, as the award was announced on Monday by the league office and is presented by The Health Plan.
Diaz went undefeated in all areas of competition throughout the week, going 2-0 in both singles and doubles play. On Monday in Frostburg's final conference match of the season, Diaz took a 6-3 win in No. 1 doubles against West Virginia Wesleyan, before seeing a 7-6, 6-3 victory in the No. 2 singles spot. On Saturday in the Bobcats' season finale, Diaz worked for a back-and-forth 7-6 win, again in the No. 1 doubles hole, that would help give FSU the doubles point, while then going for a three-set 6-0, 6-7, 11-9 dub, once again in the two slot of singles.
