Women's Tennis Drops Road Match to UDC
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team lost 7-0 on their road trip to District of Columbia Friday afternoon.
The Firebirds wasted little time getting on the board early, sweeping the doubles matches by scores of 6-3, 6-0, and a forfeit. In the individual matches, sophomore Patricia Castejon came closest to getting an FSU point, as she recovered from a 6-4 first set to win the second 6-1 before ultimately falling 10-5 in the tiebreaking decider. Senior Lorena Pintar also had a close match, narrowly dropping the first set 7-6 and the second 7-5.
With the loss, Frostburg drops to 2-2 on the year, while UDC improves to 9-4. The Bobcats next have a road trip to Virginia to face Norfolk State and Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, March 19 beginning at 12 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
