Men's Wrestling Secures Dominant Home Win Over Salem
FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Wrestling team defeated Salem (WV) 40-10 at home on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Rocky Alabaddi got the meet started with a narrow 6-5 decision win at 125, securing the riding time point that made the difference. Freshman Tanner Halling followed up with a first round pin at 133, while sophomore Chase Bell took an 8-1 decision at 141, putting FSU ahead 12-0.
After a forfeit at 149, the Bobcats continued their momentum with redshirt senior Nico D'Amico taking a 13-2 major decision at 157, junior Mason Buckler getting a 22-4 tech fall at 165, and classmate Duncan Kammar securing a pinfall at 174, surging ahead 33-0. In the final three bouts, the Tigers were able to prevent the shutout, getting a major decision and a pinfall at 184 and 285, respectively, while sophomore Alex Hoy had a pin of his own at 197 to end the scoring matches.
FSU picked up another pair of wins in the two exhibition matches, as sophomore Amir Wray-Hill was dominant in a 19-3 tech fall before redshirt freshman Kash Dalhouse picked up a victory by fall. With an unsportsmanlike point against SU, Frostburg came out ahead 40-10 in the meet.
With the win, the Bobcats improve to 4-2 on the year, while Salem drops to 0-3. FSU will return to the mat in 2026 as they head to the Virginia Duals from January 9-10. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
