Women's Cross Country Voted Fifth in MEC Preseason Poll
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference released their 2025 Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll on Thursday afternoon, selecting Frostburg State to repeat in the fifth slot.
FSU took eighth place in the MEC championships a year ago, prior to finishing 18th at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.
Frostburg holds 59 points in the overall poll, sliding in between Concord who shows 73 and Point Park who has 49. Charleston was given the number one spot in the poll with 98 overall points as well as eight first-place votes, while the defending champions of Davis & Elkins sit in second with 90 points and three first-place votes.
The Bobcats begin their season at the Galen Piper XC Challenge at Shippensburg, as they are set to race on Friday, September 5 at 8 PM.
