Doyle Earns Offensive Player of the Week, Allsup Named Co-Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Frostburg State had a pair of players earn MEC honors, with Owen Doyle being named Offensive Player of the Week and Marquise Allsup earning Co-Defensive Player of the Week, presented by the Health Plan, as announced by the league office.
Doyle racked up 117 total rushing yards in FSU's 29-24 victory over West Virginia State while finding the endzone three times in the contest. He had a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to help secure the win, his first putting the Bobcats ahead 23-17 and the second being the game-winner at 29-24 with five and a half minutes left in the game.
Allsup made his mark in the first quarter, stopping a Yellow Jacket drive on a 3rd-and-goal from the Frostburg 10 with an interception, which he ran back 74 yards. His pick helped set up the FSU offense for a touchdown to go ahead 10-0.
