Kush Earns First Team All-MEC, Pintar, Ramos, Castejon Named Second Team

The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team placed four athletes on the All-MEC teams, as announced by the league office.

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team placed four athletes on the All-MEC teams, as announced by the league office.
 
Sophomore Alyssa Kush earned First Team honors, becoming the first Bobcat to do so since joining Division II. She led the team in doubles wins at 15, largely at the No. 1 spot with freshman Lauren Ceballos. Kush also had nine solo victories, tying her for the team lead in total wins.
 
In that tie with her was junior Lorena Pintar, who had an even 12 wins at both doubles and singles competition. She repeated last year's distinction as a Second Team honoree, as did classmate Julia Ramos, who ended the year with an overall record of 21-9, the best winning percentage for FSU. Rounding out the awards, freshman Patricia Castejon also earned Second Team distinction, as she had 22 total wins on the year, 15 of them in singles play to lead Frostburg in the category.
