Four Selected to All-Region Team for Women's Soccer

The 2023 United Soccer Coaches announced NCAA Division II Women's All-Atlantic Region teams on Monday, with seniors Ashley Bilger, Toni Fiocco-Mizer, and Hannah Thompson, along with junior Cat Smith receiving the honors.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2023 United Soccer Coaches announced NCAA Division II Women's All-Atlantic Region teams on Monday, with seniors Ashley Bilger, Toni Fiocco-Mizer, and Hannah Thompson, along with junior Cat Smith receiving the honors. 
 
Both Bilger and Fiocco-Mizer coming off a First Team All-MEC selection, were both named First Team All-Atlantic Region.  Bilger adds to her list of accomplishments, setting the single season shutout record and career wins record for Frostburg, going for a 15-3-2 record, 44 saves for fourth most in the MEC, 10 shutouts and .47 goals against average, both for first in the MEC, as well as only allowing nine goals all season.  Fiocco-Mizer, the Bobcats main source of offense, totaled eight goals and five assists on the season with 74 shots and 21 total points. 
 
Thompson and Smith were both recognized as Third Team All-Atlantic Region, having Thompson been named Second Team All-MEC and Smith being named First Team All-MEC and D2CCA First Team All-Region.  Thompson, midfielder, started all 22 games for FSU, playing 1,878 minutes, knocking in a goal, and dishing out three assists on the season.  Smith served as the center back for Frostburg's defense, leading the Bobcats to one of the top defenses in the country.  Only allowing nine goals all season, Smith helped lead FSU to 0.409 goals against average, while also finding her way on offense to slice in seven goals on the year and provide two assists for a total of 16 points.
