Cat Smith Named D2CCA Women's Soccer First Team All-Region
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Junior defender Cat Smith was named D2CCA First Team All-Region on Tuesday, as announced by the organization.
A three-time All-MEC seleciton, Smith was named to the conference First Team for the first time in her career, helping lead one of the nation's top defenses. FSU allowed just nine goals this season, the third-best mark in Division II, with a 0.409 goals against average. She also made a difference in the offensive part of the field, scoring seven goals and providing two assists from her center back position, accruing the third-most total points on the team with 16.
As a First Team All-Region selection, Smith will be a candidate for D2CCA All-American status, with voting set to occur in the near future and All-America teams announced next month.
