Kiple, Guy, Steen Receive ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2024 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced in all eight regions, as Frostburg State senior Ethan Kiple was named Region Position Player of the Year, bringing home All-Region First Team honors as well. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Kiple, MEC Player of the Year, D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year, and NCBWA All-Region Second Team honoree as well, caps off an outstanding career at Frostburg, racking up the accolades to round out his final season. Kiple, utility, led the conference in runs scored with 58, while tying for the conference lead in both hits (69) and home runs (18). Kiple continued to lead the Bobcats in batting average (.385) and RBI (59), while smacking 17 doubles as well. From the mound, Kiple contributed a 3.50 ERA in 18 innings pitched, picking up a win, five saves, and 20 strikeouts.
Juniors Mikey Guy and Randy Steen were named to the ABCA/Rawlings Second Team, continuing to earn honors as well. Guy, Frostburg's third baseman, finished with a .379 batting average off 66 hits, 13 doubles and seven home runs, while scoring 50 runs and tallying 43 RBI, setting him up for All-MEC Second Team and NCBWA All-Region Second Team honors also. Steen, FSU's main center fielder, was named to the All-MEC First Team and both the NCBWA and D2CCA All-Atlantic Region Second Teams, posting a .373 batting average on 69 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, and five home runs, while scoring 41 runs and picking up 44 RBI as well.
The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America teams will be announced on Friday, May 31. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 19. The ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams will be announced on Thursday, June 20.

- Both Men's and Women's Swimming Repeat as CSCAA Scholar All-America TeamsThe College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) proudly announced the selection of 722 teams from 417 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2024 Semester, as both Frostburg State Men's and Women's Swimming programs received the honor.
- 182 Student-Athletes Receive Mountain East Conference Academic HonorsThe Mountain East Conference has announced its academic awards for Winter and Spring season athletes, recognizing Academic All-Conference and Commissioner's Honor Roll selections.
- Roberts Named College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-AmericanCollege Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday the 2024 Academic All-American Softball teams for NCAA Division I-II-II and NAIA, with Frostburg State senior Jamie Roberts being named a Second Team Academic All-American for the second consecutive year.
- McCullough and Jones Named USILA Scholar All-AmericansThe United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced the 2024 Academic Team Awards, as well as the Scholar All-Americans, both which are presented by Blatant Lacrosse.
- Frostburg State Announces 2024 Hall of Fame ClassThe Frostburg State University Department of Athletics and the Office of Alumni Relations has announced that six former members will be inducted into the Bobcat Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2024. The inductees will be honored during Homecoming Weekend of October 17-20, 2024.
