Women's Lacrosse Shown First in MEC Preseason Poll for Sixth Consecutive Year

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their 2025 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll on Wednesday afternoon, with Frostburg State Women's Lacrosse sitting on top in first place. 
 
Frostburg is coming off their second straight MEC regular season title and MEC Championship title.  The Bobcats finished 13-5 overall in 2024, going a perfect 8-0 record in conference play.  FSU had a thrilling 11-10 double overtime win against non-conference opponent Wilmington (Del.), as they concluded their season with MEC play, earning eight straight wins to round out the regular season.  Frostburg defeated West Virginia Wesleyan in the first round of playoffs, going on to beat Charleston (WV) in the championship. 
 
The Bobcats took 16 total points in the poll, receiving four first-place votes.  Charleston sits in second, holding on to 11 total points and one first-place vote, while Wheeling (10) and Davis & Elkins (9) are ranked right behind them, with Wesleyan concluding the poll with four total points. 
 
FSU kicks off their 2025 season at home, welcoming in Holy Family on Wednesday, February 19 for a 4 PM contest.  The Bobcats play their first five games in Bobcat Stadium, before then going on a three-game road trip.  Frostburg hosts their MEC opener against the Golden Eagles of Charleston on Sunday, March 23 at 12 PM.
