    FSU’s Department of Music Presents Saxophonist Jeremy Koch in Guest Artist Series Concert

    Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present saxophonist Jeremy Koch in a Guest Artist Series concert on Monday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. He will be accompanied by pianist Molly Orlando. The concert is free and open to the public. This event will also be livestreamed; click the “Join Stream” button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or any time during the recital, to view the live performance.

    For this concert, Koch will perform works by Jennifer Jolley, Miriama Young, Carter Pann, Max Bruch and Jerod Tate.

    In addition to the performance, a master class will be held at 3 p.m. in room 213 of the Performing Arts Center.

    Koch is a saxophonist, chamber musician, educator and arts administrator in the Washington, D.C., area. He is former principal saxophonist and section leader of the United States Air Force Band and has been a featured concert soloist on countless national tours and international conferences. As a freelance saxophonist, Koch has performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall and the Kennedy Center. He regularly performs with the National Symphony Orchestra, Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra and Atlantic Reed Consort. A proponent of new music, Koch has premiered solo, saxophone quartet, reed quintet and concerto works at numerous conferences. He can be heard on countless recordings with the USAF Band.

    Committed to teaching, he regularly presents educational clinics, coaching and lessons to students ranging from fifth grade, high school and college to those preparing for professional auditions. He is lecturer of saxophone and chamber music at George Washington University as well as an adjunct professor of saxophone at Shepherd University and maintains a private teaching studio in Bethesda, Md.

    As an arts administrator, Koch was appointed the manager of Guest Artist Relations for the USAF Band and has directed collaborations with celebrated artists from across the musical spectrum. Previously, he managed, developed and curated chamber music programs for the USAF Band at the Smithsonian American History Museum, National Gallery of Art, National Archives and Kennedy Center.
