Cheerleading Takes 1st Place at Steeltown National Championship
PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Frostburg State Cheerleading team competed at the Steeltown National Championship on Saturday, bringing home first place during the competition.
The Bobcats competed for the first time this season going to the Shout Cheer and Dance event. FSU competed in the Advanced Game Day Division, with 10 members of the squad and FSU's mascot Bob E. Cat. At the end of the day Frostburg came home as the top team, earning Level Champion, Grand Champion, Sportsmanship award and a bid to the Surf's Up Grand Championship.
The group received no deductions on their performance during the FSU fight song, crowd cheer and the band dance. The Bobcat cheer squad and Bob E Cat are mainstays at both FSU football and basketball games. For more information on the Bobcats visit frostburgsports.com
