Leaders-in-Residence Series: Lillia Rose, speaking on political leadership

    Ms. Lillia Rose, Legislative Assistant of Delegate Vogel (Maryland), will speak on political leadership. Rose earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University’s School of Public Affairs, where she focused on applied political writing, legislative research, and campaign strategy. Her experience spans local, state, and federal government, including serving as a Legislative Assistant and Staff Correspondent in the Maryland General Assembly for Delegate Joe Vogel, and interning in the Office of Congressman David Trone (MD-06). She also served as Digital Specialist for the April Delaney for Congress campaign, where she managed digital outreach and served as liaison to Garrett County. A passionate advocate for civic engagement and rural Appalachian representation, Rose is the founder of the Mountain Maryland Young Democrats and a member of the Garrett County Democratic Central Committee. In 2024, she was a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention, representing Western Maryland on the national stage. Rose also serves on the Board of the Garrett County Historical Society and previously co-coordinated the Autumn Glory Festival and Maryland State Banjo and Fiddle Tournament, while managing media and outreach for the Town of Oakland. In addition to her civilian work, Rose is a Psychological Operations Sergeant (37F) in the U.S. Army Reserve, currently assigned to the 11th Psychological Operations Battalion. She completed advanced training at the JFK School of Special Warfare and supports her unit as the Public Affairs Representative.
