Take a break, unwind, and reconnect with yourself. Join the Student Counseling Center for a free, walk-in yoga session on Thursday, May 8 at 3:30 p.m. in EHSC 208A. This session is designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and find calm through gentle movement and mindfulness. Open to all students, this event is a perfect way to de-stress and recharge during National Mental Health Month. No experience necessary; participants must provide their own mat and a bath towel/ throw blanket.

Take a mindfulness break and join the Student Counseling Center (SCC) & Frostburg Center for Advancement of Natural and Outdoor Experiences (CANOE) for a guided campus walk on Friday, May 9 from 8-9 a.m. in honor of National Mental Health Month this May. Designed to promote connection, reflection, and overall well-being, this relaxed walk invites students to engage in supportive conversation, gentle awareness, and stress relief. Open to all students, wearing proper footwear, this event offers a refreshing opportunity to ground yourself while in motion, keeping your body and mind in sync. The walk leaves from the Clock Tower Quad.

CARL ORFF'S MASTERWORK "CARMINA BURANA" TO BE PRESENTED AT FSUOn the weekend of May 9–11, the Frostburg State University Department of Music, in conjunction with B’er Chayim Congregation in Cumberland, the FSU Departments of Visual Arts and Theatre and Dance, as well as the Butterfly Ridge Elementary School Chorus, the Allegany County Public Schools, FSU faculty and alumni, and professional musicians from around the country, will present Carl Orff’s masterwork, "Carmina Burana", his evocative—and almost primal—setting of secular medieval poetry from the region now called Germany.Performed “in the round,” in the Cordts PE Center gymnasium, audience members and performers will be intermixed around an arena for dancing, featuring original choreography by Jamie McGreevy. Frostburg State University’s Department of Visual Arts will host its Spring 2025 Senior Exhibition, “BFA Expo,” which will open with a reception on Saturday, May 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery in FSU’s Fine Arts Building. This exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will be on display through Friday, May 16.The student artists are as follows:Alexander Parrott will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and design, with concentrations in photography and graphic design, and a minor in fine arts. After graduation, Parrott’s goal is to get a job in graphic design while growing his photography business.Ana Lozano will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and design, with concentrations in illustration graphic design, and a minor in art history. She plans to work for the Disney College Program after graduation and will continue to market her sticker designs.Breann Robison will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and design, with concentrations in illustration and ceramics, and a minor in art history. After graduation, she will continue freelance work while pursuing a studio career.Brooke Palmer will graduate with a bachelor’s in art and design, with a focus in graphic design and illustration, and a minor in art history. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a graphic designer while continuing to work on illustration and animation contractually.Kendall Hooper is a student athlete who will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with focus in photography. After graduation, she plans to work in photography and hopes to one day own her own business as a wedding photographer.Thomas McCoy is a student athlete who will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in photography.
