Filipovits Takes MEC Men's Swimmer of the Week Honors
BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Freshman Sean Filipovits was named the MEC Men's Swimmer of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, as announced by the league office.
Filipovits had victories in both relays as well as an individual second-place finish as the team defeated Fairmont State 137-56. In the 400m medley relay, he led off with the backstroke, setting an individual program record with a 59.75 split, as the team's performance also set a record at 3:58.46. He later was also a member of the 400m free relay team, swimming the final leg and making up a full second deficit to win 3:42.47 to Fairmont's 3:42.53. Individually, he took second place in the 100m free (55.84).
