Kush, Ceballos Pick Up Victories for Women's Tennis at ITA Atlantic Regional

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team concluded their weekend at the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament on Sunday, picking up a pair of wins in the process.  
 
On the first day of matches, junior Alyssa Kush picked up a 6-2, 7-6 victory in singles play, taking her into Saturday's Round of 32. Also advancing was sophomore Lauren Ceballos, who won by default. In the next round, both lost in straight sets, ending their individual tournament runs, however in doubles play, they took a consolation win 6-3 over the tournament seven seeds from IUP.
 
Also competing were seniors Lorena Pintar and Maria Kotsiou and sophomore Patricia Castejon. All three fell in their opening singles matches, as Pintar and Kotsiou were also knocked out in their first round doubles match.
 
FSU kicks off team match play on Wednesday, September 25 as they travel to District of Columbia at 2 PM. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
