Ndiaye, Mathews Place Top-Three, Boards Ties Program Record at MEC Championships
FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team found themselves remaining in fourth place after the second day of the MEC Outdoor Championships.
Sophomore Khady Ndiaye picked up a pair of top-five finishes on the day, securing third in the high jump at 1.50m and fourth in the triple jump at 11.46m, setting a new personal best in the latter category as the fourth-best leap in program history.
Having finished day one of the heptathlon in fourth, senior Morgan Mathews moved up a spot on day two to take third in the event at 3,773 points, blowing past her previous career best of 3,455 and marking the fourth-best total in program history. She set career highs in the 200 (27.52) and the 800 meters (2:38.01). Also during the heptathlon, senior Erin Haviland secured a personal best in the 200 at 28.53.

Also in a scoring place, senior Hannah Muir came eighth at 12:36.15, having already run the 10,000 meters the day before.
Along with field event scores, on the track, preliminary races were run to determine qualifiers for tomorrow's finals. Boards went on to secure the top mark in qualifying for the 200 meters, as her 24.67 set a new PR and ties the program record set by former standout Kayla Truesdel in 2017. Joining her in tomorrow's field will be Scott (25.28), who also scored a personal best and now stands ninth all-time, and Mastria (25.64) also setting a career high.
