Women's Tennis Loses Tuesday Match to Carleton
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team fell 7-2 to Carleton in the second match of their Spring Break trip on Tuesday.
With the match played in Division III scoring, the doubles pairing of junior Lorena Pintar and freshman Patricia Castejon picked up FSU's first point of the match with an 8-3 win. Sophomore Alyssa Kush and freshman Lauren Ceballos came up just short at the top billing, losing 8-7 as the Knights took two of the three matches.
CC took their momentum into singles play, winning five of the six matches by straight-set sweeps. Pintar was the lone Bobcat to secure a win, defeating her opponent at No. 3 7-6, 6-3.
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 5-6 on the year, while Carleton improves to 7-0. FSU will conclude their trip to South Carolina on Thursday, March 21 to face Nazareth at 10 AM. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
