Kearney, Walstrum, Roach Selected to ECC Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll
WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The Frostburg State Men's Lacrosse team had three players named to the ECC Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll this week, with seniors Seamus Kearney and Alex Walstrum, along with sophomore Luke Roach being selected.
After being named ECC Defensive Player of the Week last week, Kearney continued to lead the Frostburg's defensive efforts with four total caused turnovers and six ground balls during a 1-1 week. In the team's 24-3 non-conference win over Davis & Elkins on Wednesday, Kearney caused a pair of turnovers to go with three ground balls, helping to limit the Senators to just 17 total shots and nine on goal. He then followed up with another two caused turnovers and three ground balls in a close 7-6 loss to No. 18 Molloy, while also scoring a goal in the effort.
Walstrum, continuing his dominance in the X, went a combined 19-of-23 in face-offs with 14 ground balls in the spit week for the Bobcats. He showed 12-of-14 in the team's convincing win over D&E, while then going 7-of-9 against the ranked Lions.
Roach, earning his first-ever ECC Weekly Award, posted seven points on five goals and two assists in FSU's week. The midfielder totaled five points on three goals and two assists in the team's victory over Davis & Elkins, before following up with a pair of EMO goals in their 7-6 ECC loss to MU.
