Men's Tennis Concludes Sweep of WLU for First Conference Victory of Season

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team swept West Liberty on Tuesday afternoon by a final score of 7-0 for their first MEC win of the season. 
 
The junior duo of German Daiz and Cole Alcala worked quickly in No. 1 doubles, defeating their opponent by a strong 6-0 score.  Senior Matt Bolen and teammate sophomore Viktor Boban took the No. 2 hole 6-2, while juniors Noah Fisher and Jason Haley served a 6-1 victory to conclude the sweep in the No. 3 slot.
 
Alcala started off singles competition with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 win, with Diaz following with a 6-0, 6-1 win as well.  Boban earned the dub in the third spot by a 6-1, 6-1 finish, while Bolen showed another 6-0, 6-1 score for the Bobcats.  Fisher and Haley rounded out the day both with total wins of 6-0, 6-0 to conclude the dominant 7-0 sweep. 
 
With the win, Frostburg jumps to 4-6 on the season, while West Liberty falls to 1-7.  The Bobcats are next on the road when they travel to play West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, April 4 at 3 PM.  For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
