Acrobatics & Tumbling Picked Second in MEC Preseason Poll
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their 2025 Acrobatics & Tumbling Preseason Poll on Thursday afternoon, with Frostburg State Acrobatics & Tumbling being picked to finish second in the conference.
Frostburg enters 2025 as two-time MEC Champions, earning the crown the last two seasons. The Bobcats finished 7-3 overall a year ago, with a 4-1 record in conference competition with a .025 loss to Fairmont during the regular season. FSU was able to get the win over the Fighting Falcons when it mattered the most, defeating Fairmont in the MEC Championship for the second consecutive year. Frostburg made their way to the NCATA 2024 National Championships, entering as the No. 7 seed for the second straight season.
The Bobcats and Fairmont continue their fight for first place in the MEC, with the Falcons taking the number one spot in the poll with 35 total points and five first-place votes, while Frostburg was given second place off 32 points and two first-place votes. Glenville State sits in third with 25 points, while new conference member, Kutztown, and West Liberty are tied for fourth with 19 points. West Virginia State (11) and Wheeling (6) then round out the six and seven spots.
FSU begins their season at home on Sunday, February 16 with a conference tri-meet of Kutztown and West Virginia State set for 2 PM. The Bobcats go on the road for the first in 2025 the following week, traveling to face Glenville State and Wheeling in another tri-meet on Sunday, February 23 at 1 PM.
