Handwerger Takes MEC Women's Swimmer of the Week After First Collegiate Meet

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Freshman Jenna Handwerger was named the MEC Women's Swimmer of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Competing for the first time in a collegiate meet, Handwerger helped lead FSU to a pair of wins over Wheeling and West Virginia Wesleyan. She recorded three individual wins in the 200m free (2:13.45), 200m fly (2:30.36), and the 200m IM (2:31.98), with her performance in the fly marking a new program record. She also was a member of the winning 200m free relay team that was victorious in 1:54.22.
