Attention FSU Student-Athletes
FROSTBURG, Md. – Attention all Frostburg State University student-athletes, the NCAA has recently recommended that all student-athletes be tested for the Sickle Cell Trait. Frostburg State will be following this recommendation in order to ensure the health and safety of its student-athletes.
Students must provide notification from a physician with the results of the Sickle Cell Trait Test. The results from the test can be obtained from a family physician if the individual was tested as a newborn. If not, then the student must obtain a test from a physician and provide the results to the Athletic Training staff. Students will not be allowed to participate in practices or athletic events until this test is completed and the results are given to the Athletic Training staff.
Note: Testing positive for Sickle Cell Trait will NOT prevent you from participating in athletics.
