Linhart Announces Staff Additions In Strength & Conditioning/Fitness Center
FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State University strength & conditioning/fitness center coordinator Kyle Linhart has recently added two members to his staff for the 2013-14 athletic year. Melissa Willison has been added as an intern/assistant, while Nick Halkias becomes a graduate assistant after serving as a student intern last year.
Willison comes to Frostburg after working for Texas A&M University Kingsville for the last two years. She served as the interim head strength coach in the spring of 2012, in charge of all 12 varsity sports, including football.
From August '11 through May '13, Willison worked with the Javelina strength and conditioning program as a graduate assistant. She served as the primary strength coach for the volleyball, softball, basketball, tennis and golf teams, while assisting with football.
Halkias was a member of the FSU student body for the last four years and served the campus in numerous roles. Most recently, he worked as a strength & conditioning intern, assisting with program design and training for the Bobcat field hockey, volleyball, track & field and men's and women's basketball teams. He also assisted with the training program for the Bobcat football program.
Since his arrival as a student in August 2010, Halkias has worked as a student health coach, helping with the overall health and fitness of the FSU student body. He helped students develop personalized fitness regiments, conducted dietary analysis and organized and instructed daily training sessions.
From August 2010 through December 2012, he worked as a student mentor for Frostburg State. Halkias personally managed the conduct and development of 90 students, while assisting with their academic progress.
