Bobcats Help with Mt. Pleasant Park Project

Earlier this Spring, Frostburg State student athletes joined in Beautify the Burg and the Mt. Pleasant Park project to do their part in keeping the town and its parks looking great.

FROSTBURG, Md. – Earlier this Spring, Frostburg State student athletes joined in Beautify the Burg and the Mt. Pleasant Park project to do their part in keeping the town and its parks looking great.

Over 150 athletes participated in the project, held around town over a span of three weeks, including the Mount Pleasant Park Project and Beautify the Burg. Students helped with various tasks across Frostburg, including painting, mulching and trash pickup. Locations included the Frostburg Pool, Glen Denning Park, the little league baseball fields and various streets throughout town.

The Spring Park project took place at Mt. Pleasant Park, located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Frostburg. Student athletes helped pull weeds, clean and mulch around the park. The students also got to help paint and design a mural that shows off things that make up Frostburg. Each team submitted designs to the city to vote on, then the selected mural was completed in sections by students over a few weeks with the help of local artist Jenna Linhart.
