114 Frostburg Athletes Earn 2023 Fall MEC Academic Honors
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference released its Academic All-MEC Team and the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Fall 2023 semester, where a total of 114 Frostburg State athletes were honored.
54 Bobcats were named to the Academic All-MEC Team, of which student-athletes must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their season. Each of Frostburg's sports competing in the fall season had at least three selections for the honor. An additional 60 FSU athletes qualified for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, where student-athletes must be a member of the active roster and post a grade-point average between 3.25-3.69 through the semester.
For male sports, football led the way with 46 total athletes earning the honor, 14 for the All-MEC Academic Team, and 32 claiming the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Female sports, on the other hand, were led by women's soccer who posted a total of 25 athletes, 18 on the All-MEC Academic team and seven on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
