182 Student-Athletes Receive Mountain East Conference Academic Honors

The Mountain East Conference has announced its academic awards for Winter and Spring season athletes, recognizing Academic All-Conference and Commissioner's Honor Roll selections.

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced its academic awards for Winter and Spring season athletes, recognizing Academic All-Conference and Commissioner's Honor Roll selections.
 
To be a member of the All-MEC Academic Team, the student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and have a grade-point average of 3.70-4.00 in the semester of their sports championship season. To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a member of the active roster and post a grade-point average between 3.25-3.69 in the semester of their championship season.
 
Frostburg State saw 182 total athletes receive one of the distinctions, with 113 named Academic All-MEC and a further 69 earning the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Softball led in the way of Academic All-Conference selections with 14 members, just ahead of Acrobatics & Tumbling at 13, while Baseball had the most of any male sport with 12 honorees. The Commissioner's Honor Roll had a three-way tie, as Baseball, Women's Lacrosse, and Women's Track & Field all had 10 athletes receive the honor.
