FROSTBURG, Md. - Frostburg State Athletics will be taking a preview for each team competing in the fall season, covering eight total sports. Over the next week, each team will be broken down into their expectations, key players, and overall outlook for their season and program.  Second up for the final week is Men's Cross Country.

Overall
Frostburg State Men's Cross Country looks to run their 55th season this fall in 2024.  Head Coach Shane Brookshire is set to embark on his sixth season at the helm of the program, as Baby Jimerson joins him on the staff as the Graduate Assistant.

Last Season
Frostburg came in fourth out of 10 teams in the MEC Championships a year ago, with the Bobcats earning one All-MEC honor.  Justus LePrevost finished in 25th place, with Ryan Connelly, Gage Osborne, and Austin Comeaux taking the 30th, 32nd, and 35th spots right behind him.  FSU had two other top-five team finishes on the year in 2023, including a first place finish out of 20 teams in the Bethany Invite.  The Bobcats then concluded their season with a ninth place standing out of 21 teams in the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.  The team overall was also named a USTFCCCA All-Academic team.

The Returners
Brookshire has 13 athletes returning for the 2024 season, having lost LePrevost as a senior, who was a key piece to both the cross country and track and field teams for the last four years.  Seniors Logan Folmer, Eric Hutchison, and Comeaux along with junior Brandon Stein will represent the upperclassmen this year, while Matthew Brennan, Ryan Connelly, Ray Gibson, Nathan Hillhouse, Jack Hynes, Jaxon Jones, Gage Osborne, Isayah Stewart, and Haben Tesfay all come back as the sophomore class.

The Newcomers
Brookshire adds just three newcomers, welcoming two freshmen to the team, along with a sophomore that participated in track and field in the spring.  Ethan McKee and Ben Saltysiak join the team as the duo of freshmen, while Brendan Kline looks to run his first season with the program.

Kick off to Season
The Bobcats kick off their season on Saturday, September 7 at 10:30 AM in the Cantello Invite held in Annapolis. MD.  FSU will then run in the Lock Haven Invite and Paul Short Run, prior to competing in the MEC Championships on Saturday, October 26.  Frostburg then will compete in the Go Fast River Run, before concluding their season with the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.
