Jones Paces Men's Cross Country to 8th Place at MEC Championships

The Frostburg State Men's Cross Country team placed eighth at the MEC Championships on Saturday.

WHEELING, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Men's Cross Country team placed eighth at the MEC Championships on Saturday.
 
FSU was led by four runners all finishing within 10 spots of each other, with sophomore Jaxon Jones (27:31.96) placing highest at 36th, followed by classmates Ryan Connelly (27:43.03), Gage Osborne (27:56.63) and Haben Tesfay (28:13.81) in 39th, 41st, and 46th, respectively.
 
Rounding out the scoring places for the Bobcats was junior Brandon Stein at 29:05.83, freshman Ben Saltysiak at 29:05.83, and sophomore Jack Hynes at 30:25.94. Among the non-scoring runners also competing were sophomores Ray Gibson (31:27.90) and Nathan Hillhouse (31:43.92) and freshman Ethan McKee (32:08.06).
 
Frostburg next will travel to Lock Haven for the Go Fast River Run on Saturday, November 2. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
