Connelly Leads Men's Cross Country to 4th Place at Galen Piper Invite

The Frostburg State Men's Cross Country team got their season going with a fourth-place finish at the Galen Piper Invite hosted by Shippensburg.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Cross Country team got their season going with an impressive fourth-place showing at the Galen Piper Invite hosted by Shippensburg on Friday night.
 
The top performer on the night was freshman Ryan Connelly, whose 19:33.3 was good enough for 13th overall and the top FSU mark at the event since 2008. Junior Austin Comeaux and freshman Haben Tesfay finished right next to each other, with the former posting a 20:11.2 and the latter just 0.3 seconds behind as both secured top-30 places.
 
Freshman Gage Osborne earned a 20:21.8 to get inside the top 40, while junior Caden Jones ran a 6K PR of 20:27.5. Freshmen Jack Hynes (21:06.2) and Matthew Brennan (21:21.8) completed the Bobcat racers on the night.
 
Frostburg next travels to Bethany in West Virginia on Saturday, September 10 for a 10 AM meet. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
